WP Menu Icons

Documentation | QuadMenu | Community

The menu of the site can be so simplest as a list of links without indentation or the complex place in a site.

But most developers fight to provide more complex and more features in their mega menu plugins and forgot about the users that only need a very simple function that doesn’t come in the default WordPress menu.

That’s the reason why we’ve created WP Menu Icons, a plugin that doesn’t presume to be the best WordPress Mega Menu plugin, but does what it has to do: gives you the ability to include icons into your WordPress menu.

  1. Go to the Plugins page in WordPress
  2. Search for “WP Menu Icons”
  3. Click “Install”

After installation go to Appearance > Menus and include your wordpress menu icons.

Well it does what it says and it has a lot of options. So from that perspective it is a 4 star review. The plugin uses older versions of the icon sets. So there are many old social media icons (Vine for instance) and new ones (Discord) that are missing. The plugin uses FontAwesome 4.7 which was the last free version of the set. The same is true for most of the other icons except for DashIcons which are owned by Wordpress. Switching between icon sets can be a bit of a PITA but that is the only real issue. Does exactly what it says and as long as you don't need access to any new icons you are golden

No reactions at all?! This must be a scamming plugin dev bot... --- ORIGINAL REVIEW --- Today I followed your request to submit a review. First of all: Thank you for providing your plugin for free! I really like your PlugIn, but I tried to contact you twice within the last 13 months in order to ask you to integrate my favorite free iconset and I even prepared a download link for you with all the required code for your plugin (PHP and CSS classes) that works well on my website. No reaction by you. I have to manually integrate my favorite icon set again and again with every update you provide. That's why I asked you to check my code mods and maybe integrate it in your latest version so everyone can use the "Icons8 Line Awesome" icons and I do not have to integrate it again and again with every update you provide. No reaction by you! Two times! I really can understand, if you do not want to integrate these icons for any reason, but I cannot understand, that you do not react to emails, that give you a download with the latest version of your plugin with the "Icons8 Line Awesome" icons integrated... My first message to your gmail account: 2021-02-22, Subject: WP Menu Icons - With Icons8 "Line Awesome" Icons My second message to your quadlayers account: 2022-01-28, Subject: WP Menu Icons 2.1.6 with Line Awesome icons by Icons8 If you reply to my latest email I will update this review.
