Bulk Comment Remove

Description

A plugin to remove all pending comments from your DB in one click. A useful tool if you’ve been heavily spammed or have not managed your blog for a while and would just like a fresh start for your comments. Note that this will not modify any previous that are not marked as unapproved.

Installation

Standard installtion required.

  1. Upload ‘Bulk_Comment_Removal.php’ to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. Find the plugin in the ‘Tools’ menu

Wow! Had to update a clients really old version of Wordpress where Akismet had blocked over 200,000 spam comments but let over 14,000 through the net. Was a bit concerned as the plugin said WP 3 or newer, so bit the bullet and it worked perfectly.

I have Wordpress 4.4.1 installed, ran this plugin and it worked like a charm! I had close to 1600 spam comments. You just click the checkbox, click the button and poof! Love it. Go to Tools to use it. Thank you for this.

Installed, activated, clicked on the link under "Tools". And, nothing. Blank page. I'm not willing to accept that it is an issue with my setup given that there is nothing unusual about the server configuration. It must be doing something not quite kosher somewhere.
