Blogger Importer Extended

Description

The only plugin you need to move from Blogger to WordPress

Blogger Importer Extended is the easiest way to import your posts, pages, tags, comments, images and authors from Blogger to WordPress. After the import is complete, you can also enable 301 redirects from old Blogger links.

Import up to 20 blog posts/pages, along with all comments, featured images and post labels for free. If you have more than 30 blog posts, you may wish to purchase an unlimited license. This allows you to import an unlimited amount of posts, pages, comments, images, labels and authors. You can also choose from a range of options to help with things like SEO and content formatting.

Blogger Importer Extended can:

  • Import published posts
  • Import pages
  • Import tags/labels
  • Import comments
  • Import images (high res when available)
  • Import authors
  • Preserve all post/page links
  • Setup all 301 redirects from Blogger to WordPress
  • Fix mixed-content (convert http to https)
  • Filter spam comments (good for SEO)
  • Automatically remove “?m=1” from old Blogger links
  • Enable native lazy-loading on blog post images (greatly speeds up page loading times).
  • Convert post content formatting to match WP standards

“I have a huge blog with over 3,800 posts and I was skeptical that it would be imported, let alone be imported well. My skepticism was unfounded. Not only did it move all the posts to my new WordPress Blog but with all the images, all the type definitions, and all the links that I am aware of. I am way beyond pleased. I am thrilled. I will be using this plugin for many of our company‚Äôs blog transitions. Thank you for building this outstanding tool. You have my full appreciation.” – Review from terryminion

Why is the free version limited to 20 posts?

The Google Blogger API has a limited quota per day. Offering 20 free imports should be enough for most personal blogs without hitting the Google API quota limit. If you have more than 20 posts, or simply want to support the plugin, you may wish to purchase an unlimited license.

What is the difference between Free and Unlimited?

With the free version, you can import up to 20 blog posts/pages, along with all comments, featured images and post labels. If a post has more than one image, the first image will be downloaded to the media library and set as the featured image. The remaining images will still show in the post content, however they will be hosted on Google rather than WordPress.

With the unlimited version, all content is imported into WordPress (unless you select the option to exlude them). There are no limits on the number of posts, pages, comments, images or labels. The only thing which is not imported is draft or sheduled posts.

With both versions, you can setup all the required 301 redirects from Blogger to WordPress.

What if I have 1,000,000 blog posts?

Wow, that’s a lot of posts, nice work! If you want to import more than 20 posts, please consider purchasing an unlimited license. This allows you to import as much as you like. The importer can handle any number of posts you have.

If you have a large blog, you may wish to consider using our full Blogger to WordPress migration service. This covers all aspects of the migration from start to finish.

Can I use it on more than one site?

You can use the both free or unlimited version on all your sites. If you purchase an unlimited license, you can use it for all your own projects.

This is a very nice plugin. However, on the screen for entering the Blogger ID, I cannot enter the ID because "fade-out" is attached to all the elements, and I cannot execute the import. I would be grateful if you could fix it. (I ran it using Chrome's developer tools by removing the "fade-out" class.)

I was looking to migrate from Blogger to WordPress, but with 1200+ posts I wanted to make sure it was done properly. Up steps Blogger Importer Extended. I tested the process with the free version, and liking what I saw I paid for a week's use of the full version and got importing. The process went very smoothly, except for one wrinkle, that it didn't import my users. On contacting the developer they were able to provide a quick fix and on repeating the process it all went well. Apparently it was something to do with the blogger blog being created so long ago that the user ids were of an unexpected format. I still needed to tweak the users as the automatically created usernames were simply long numbers (though the display names were correct), but the developer suggested a work around for this too: creating new users and deleting the old ones, at which point WP asks if I want to assign the orphaned posts to a new author. The only other issue was that having carried out the process twice all media were now in my library twice, but I found another handy WP plug-in to help me delete the unused versions. Another approach would have been to take a system backup before the process and restore to that. Last of all, this Plug-in also supplies a theme which can be uploaded to the old blogger site to automatically direct traffic to your new WordPress site. I've just done that and it works a treat. No fiddling with the domain settings required. The posts redirect to the equivalent on the new site. I haven't migrated pages, so links to those pages will end up on the home page. And I've got a backup of the original theme in the unlikely event that we need to revert. Highly recommended!

I'm a developer and have helped three users migrate their old blogs into wordpress with this plugin. My only issue with the plugin is that there is a bug with the Redirects function of the plugin not working and the developer insists they can not duplicate the issue. As of this posting I am pretty sure the current version has a bug with the redirects feature which I have posted a fix to the support forum about. I will update this review accordingly when I get another project requiring the use of this plugin.

We migrated a Blog with 150 articles, 1 page, hundreds of photos and around 2200 comments. At first, the parent-child relationship of comments (a comment and the replies to it) was missing. But support by Phil (pipdig) was very quick, friendly and helpful! He solved the problem, which was due to a language issue, our WordPress installation being not English but German. What I like most about this plugin (and what I was missing in other Blogspot-migration-Plugins) is the preparation for Gutenberg blocks! In other plugins I tested, we had this junk-code remains from Blogspot in the articles after converting the text to Gutenberg Blocks. "Blogger Importer Extended" eliminates the junk and therefore saves LOTS AND LOTS of time and nerves. Thanks a lot. The money is well spent on this plugin!

Absolutely flawless! Imported more than 1000+ posts from old blog! At one point it loss connection while importing, but the progress was not loss, just re-started it and it went all the way through. Best $15 ever spent!
